SWBC Mortgage Banker
Born and raised in Fort Worth, John Burnam is a native Texan who moved to Austin in the summer of 2000. He and his wife, Katie, met while attending TCU in Fort Worth, and got married in 1999, shortly after graduating. They have two boys, ages 10 and 5. John graduated in 1998, with a degree in Marketing from the Neeley School of Business. In 2000, John and his wife started a company which relocated them to Austin, where John was the co-founder and CFO of an internet-based golf business.
In the summer of 2001 John entered into the real estate finance industry and began his career originating residential mortgages. He built his business primarily through referrals from real estate agents, past clients, friends and family, and also referral sources such as members from his BNI networking group and CEO Network. John is the past President of the Referral Exchange Network chapter of BNI in downtown Austin.
John currently serves on the board of a non-profit called The Warrior Companion Foundation. This organization provides health care coverage for service animals that belong to our military personnel and their families. John contributes a portion of every commission dollar to help fund this great charity, and to give back to those who have served our country.
John’s commitment to providing great customer service, competitive loan programs and rates, and timely closings has helped his business grow, even in uncertain financial times. John and his team at SWBC Mortgage remain committed to providing the quality of service that homebuyers deserve during the mortgage process.
When he’s not working, John enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, fishing and playing golf.
